Laura Hall takes the Jodie Mesh Jacket and Lara Trousers out for a ride
Having heard lots of amazing things from friends regarding MotoGirl clothing and how up-to-date and trendy the brand is, I decided to go check them out.
Being new to the world of biking, I always thought it had to be big oversized manly looking unflattering leathers!
Turning up at MotoGirl warehouse, I was instantly drawn to the amazing colours and patterns they had to offer. From caps, T-shirts, trousers, jackets and even ladies’ dungarees. I knew I was looking for something that I could move in freely. Clothing that doesn’t restrict movement as you are learning to ride is a great help. Not being comfortable because you feel restricted, prevents you from enjoying the experience.
After explaining to Ellen what I was looking for she suggested the Jodie Mesh jacket, which I must say as soon as I put it on I fell in love with it as it’s so lightweight and comfortable. A black jacket with grey panelling that comes with a CE-certified AA rating, I love how flattering the jacket is with easy arm adjustments and great attention to detail with the logos and zips that latch back into place.
“Now that I found my dream jacket I couldn’t possibly leave without a pair of trousers and was instantly drawn to a pair of cargo camo trousers from the Lara range”.
I tried them on and I knew I had to have these well-fitted trousers that made my bum look good. I didn’t feel like I was wearing a pair of trousers to ride a motorbike! I mean I would wear these as everyday trousers because you can take out the CE level knee protectors.
I couldn’t leave without a T-shirt to finish off the look and I picked up a black T-shirt with the Moto Girl motif in a shimmery silver. I was now fully kitted out and ready to complete my CBT.
The day of my CBT was probably the worst I could have possibly picked. The 20th of May 2022, the day the heavens opened and drowned rat wasn’t the word! The jacket kept me dry all day and once the rain had stopped in the afternoon the outer dried so quickly it didn’t become heavy.
No nasty rain dripping down my back either! The jeans also did well and although I did get a little wet I can’t fault how quickly they dried.
Pros

Cons
Very little, apart from remembering to pack waterproof trousers.
